"A retreat is... an engraved invitation to the spirit to emerge, express itself, and grow." (Rev. Michael A. Schuler)
The compelling pastoral beauty of the property's 34 acres are an exquisite combination of expansive yard with flower and vegetable gardens, panoramic views of the Cannon River Valley, gently rolling fields of crops, a small orchard of fruit bearing trees, and 12 acres of woods. Our Land Use Plan calls for the creation of trails winding through the woods, a large outdoor labyrinth, and an open-air amphitheater. The nearby Cannon Valley Bike/Cross Country Ski Trail offers additional opportunities for exploring and enjoying the area.
Retreats will be available for individuals seeking private meditation as well as congregational groups who may gather for Strategic Planning, Leadership Development, Mission/Vision work, team building or for Faith Development.
The Fields will also offer monthly themed retreats. One of the goals of The Fields is to provide beautiful, inspiring space to deepen the work of others who are compelled to contribute to the common good. We invite not-for-profit organizations that are mission compatible to use our space and amenities to encourage their deeper dreaming and to find the courage, insight, and skill to bring their hopes to fruition. The large house sleeps up to 20 people in seven bedrooms. Currently there is one additional hermitage, and plans to convert the barn into dormitory-style rooms for youth and other groups would add an additional capacity of 30 guests. This expanded capacity will allow us to bring in local as well national leaders for workshops.
